Automation technology

We use an extensive range of tools such as FMEA (failure mode analysis), 3D CAD and 3D rapid prototyping for sample construction in our product development process and to consistently optimise our products.

All developments are realised speedily with a milestone concept - from the initial idea and the concept phase right up to the start of production.

A technical centre with various test set-ups (small-scale fire test, continuous switching tests, leakage test, etc.) is available for validating and verifying the development results.

Our workforce undergoes continual further training. Our development team made up of technicians and engineers works on new technologies aimed at improving quality. The focus of their work is placed on new and changing requirements in the world of doors. Today, Athmer has over 150 patents and utility models under its belt.

Our products undergo regular in-house and external testing, including continuous switching tests with over 1 million cycles, to safeguard their quality. In addition, annual audits are conducted by the Materialprüfungsanstalt Dortmund (MPA) materials testing institute in Dortmund and the Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

We also cooperate with the IFT Rosenheim information centre for windows and doors and the Iserlohn university of applied sciences to boost our innovative capability. Our engineers are engaged in various standards committees of the German DIN standards institute in order to actively help shape standards in the world of doors.
